2017my00125 January 2017, heavy rains were non-stop in the area of Southern Peninsular Malaysia and causes 70 evacuation centres opened in Johor and 8,204 people from 2,427 families evacuated from their home. State Health and Environment Committee chairman Datuk Ayub Rahmat said Segamat district was the worst affected with 6,609 people (2,012 families) and the number of evacuation centres opened in Segamat district had increased to 50.

On 24 January 2017, 7.39am, Crest has received alert from the weather focus team and same alert has forwarded to our local partner Vincent Teo Chin Wah, the founder of Persatuan Kebajikan Kasih Segamat, our previous relief partner in 2011 and 2006 flood.
