Training and awareness program are our ongoing activities, I have visited Wenzhou, China for an awareness sharing with our brothers and sisters. Starting from November, we are visiting some local partners and churches in Peninsular Malaysia mainly on high risk area for the preparation on coming monsoon session.
2 Palu, Center Sulawesi Earthquake & Tsunami Relief Team
16-26 Oct, Indonesia – 2 Nations, 3 NGOs, with 6 volunteers have come together with 1 mission, delivering aids for the poor and needy after a 7.5 magnitude earthquake and trigger a Tsunami hits Central Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Methodist Crisis Relief & Development (MCRD), CREST and TOUCH International from Singapore are working together with Gesa Bentara from Indonesia. We landed at Makassar and purchased relief items before we drove for 27 hours to Palu.

The needs are plentiful, our helps are so little. We have completed our missions and assessment. Our next step of plan and recommendations have included in our report. A big thank to you for your prayer and monetary contributions. Indeed, God is protecting our footsteps when we were in Palu.
3 Post Cyclone Nargis, Myanmar
14-23 Oct, Irrawaddy, Myanmar – CREST partnered with two teams from Kings Kid Church, Canning Garden Baptist Church CGBC Ipoh and Business for Transformation B4T to engage the Karen Baptist in Pathein, Irrawaddy Delta of Myanmar. Six KKC members from CGBC Ipoh with the kind cooperation of Karen Baptist Convention, Yangon and Pathein Myaungmya Association trained eighty two teachers from Early Child Development Centre (ECDC) from 55 villages of Pathein, Myaungmya and Yangon divisions. After three days training, the trained teachers held a children fun carnival which were attended by more than three hundred children.
CREST teams also visited two villages around the Laputta division that were affected by the Cyclone in 2008. In this follow up the water tanks for rainwater collection built by CREST in 2016 were inspected. Supplementary feeding were continued in two villages due to high malnutrition (42.9% under-weight) determined by ENA Smart program. The honorarium for teachers in all of the ECDCs supported by CREST were continued for this academic year to encourage teachers continue serving in the village ECDCs.

CREST is grateful for the generous donations of Betty Lukens Flannel graphs by Canning Garden Baptist Church and Full Gospel Assembly, Ipoh. Each of the fifty five village ECDCs received one set after training.
