Reprot on Food Aid Donations from Kuok Foundation Berhad - Batch #4 Background

On 18 Mar 2020, Malaysia Movement Control Order (MCO) was implemented as a preventive measure by the federal government of Malaysia in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. From the period of 18 Mar to 4 May, the MCO prohibited mass assembly nationwide, including all religious, sports, social and cultural activities; all industries and businesses were closed except for essential services; All schools, nurseries and learning centers were closed, citizens were barred from leaving the country and restrictions placed for entry of non-Malaysian into the country.


During the MCO, many individuals and families stop working and lose their basic income, people were struggling to feed themselves and their families. In Mid April, CREST collaborated with PBB Group Berhad and Kuok Group on providing food aid to people in need. There were 3 batches of food aid completed from the period of 14 – 29 April. On 21 April, a CREST Action Team was formed by a group of volunteers to co-ordinate the food aid project, starting from batch 4.

As of report date, the food aid project is on-going in consideration of the implementation of Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), starting from 5 May to 4 June.

Items received for 959 households as follow: 1. Rice Bawang Hijau 672 packets 2. Sugar CGS 1060 packets 3. Flour 1036 packets 4. Vsoy 1847 boxes 5. Tuna 1417 cans

Packing & Distribution

28 - 29 April 2020 - Volunteers packed according to household size as per approved list. Kuok Foundation approved beneficiaries, packing list and distribution as follow.
